Single Cell Precision Inc. is proud to share that Founder Dr. Paola Marignani has been named CDL-Atlantic Scientist of the Year for the 2025/2026 program year by Creative Destruction Lab (CDL). CDL is a non-profit program that helps seed-stage science and technology companies grow by setting measurable objectives with experienced mentors.
“A discovery helps people once it leaves the laboratory. Translational work takes a new idea or technology and makes it available to patients and the public. CDL founders do this work every day, and I am honoured to support them.”
Dr. Marignani has been a CDL Scientist since 2021. She advises companies in the CDL Prime and CDL Cancer streams at the Atlantic, Toronto, and Vancouver sites. In that role she examines the technical claims founders make and identifies where the evidence is strong and where more work is needed.
The same approach guides Single Cell Precision Inc:
“Working with CDL founders has shaped how I lead Single Cell Precision. Every venture has to show that its science works, that it meets a real need, and that it can reach the market. We hold our own biomarker work to the same standard.”
The company is developing a biomarker panel that predicts recurrence of HER2-positive breast cancer. Dr. Marignani’s experience helping other founders move from research to market informs the company’s own plan for clinical validation, partnerships, and commercialization.
